· Xavier Brun’s paper on Modeling and Prediction of the Flow, Pressure and Holding Force Generated by a Bernoulli Handling Device won the Best paper award at MSEC, 2008.  It appeared in the Proceedings of the 2008 ASME International Manufacturing Science & Engineering Conference (MSEC).

· Christopher Golden successfully defended his M.S. thesis on 3rd March, 2008.

· Thomas Newton successfully defended his M.S. thesis on 6th February, 2008.

· Ramesh Singh successfully defended his PhD thesis on 9th November, 2007.

· Article on Laser Assisted Mechanical Micromachining published in Industry Week.

· Article on Hard Turning research published in SME’s Manufacturing Engineering magazine.
